Today, most educational institutions are implementing new ways to teach and equip their students with the skills needed for their future careers or entrepreneurial ventures. And this holds here in CIIT. Whether you’re interested in a Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Computing, computer science, or any other program/course, CIIT takes the initiative to implement various trends in technology education to ensure improved learning outcomes.
Exploring 4 Trends in Technology Education

CIIT recognizes the benefits of traditional learning. But to keep our students engaged, here are some of the trends in technology education that we infuse into our teaching methods.
1. Gamification
According to Elucidat, gamification is the “strategic use of game elements to enhance the learning experience.” This method is perfect for technology classes like entertainment and multimedia computing. Examples of gamification techniques include setting up missions relevant to the coursework, awarding points and badges to students, having a class leaderboard, and using technological educational platforms like Kahoot to create fun quizzes.
2. Social Media in Learning
Social media is here to stay, so why not use it the most, especially in education? Back then, students had to commute to school just to read announcements. With social media, faculties can instantly share essential updates, saving students time, money, and effort. Additionally, social media is a great way to share study materials, such as links, images, videos, and ebooks.
3. Mobile Learning
Smartphones and tablets are often seen as distractions, especially in traditional educational institutions. However, with set rules, integrating mobile learning in class can boost student focus. Instead of copying notes from the board, students can snap a photo and listen more attentively. Instead of carrying heavy books, they can download the ebook and view it on a tablet in class.
Challenges in Implementing Educational Technologies

Keeping up with the trends in technology education is all good. But there are specific challenges to it. Not all students have access to devices and WiFi, while some professors are not too accustomed to implementing educational technologies. But you don’t have to worry about these if you enroll in CIIT.
As a college of arts and technology, we provide students with the necessary devices and equipment in our computer labs to enhance their learning. Additionally, our professors are well-versed in technology. If you’re a student looking for a well-equipped technology school, check out our SHS Programming Track and Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Computing Program.
