Introducing the NSAC Roadshow at CIIT
On June 27, 2025, CIIT College of Arts and Technology welcomed the 58th Shell National Students Art Competition (NSAC) Roadshow to its campus. Held at the Left Wing Library, the event was organized by Shell Pilipinas Corporation in partnership with CIIT as part of their shared commitment to nurturing creativity among young Filipino artists. The roadshow introduced the national competition to CIITzens, encouraging them to explore how their art can express passion, purpose, and hope.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Artists
This year’s NSAC theme, “ALAB,” meaning flame, was the centerpiece of the event. It stood for the inner fire that fuels an artist’s creative spirit—passion, hope, and purpose. Through a carefully curated program, the event aimed to spark this flame in every student present. A showcase of past winning entries gave students a glimpse into the competition’s level of excellence, while discussions revealed the stories and inspirations behind these works. Students were also introduced to the technical side of the competition, learning about the mechanics, categories, and tips for submitting strong entries.

Meaningful Engagement and Creative Exchange
The event featured a series of segments that allowed students to connect deeply with the message of the NSAC. The session opened with an orientation on the competition’s guidelines, followed by a visual presentation of award-winning pieces from previous years. A creative segment on the theme “ALAB” encouraged students to reflect on how art can be used to express deep personal and social themes. An open forum rounded out the event, where students asked thoughtful questions and engaged with the speakers. A Shell representative facilitated the presentation, and previous NSAC winners may have joined to share their journeys and advice with fellow creatives.
CIITzens in Action
The attendees, composed mainly of BMMA students, faculty, and staff, filled the room with energy and curiosity. From note-taking to meaningful questions, the atmosphere was lively and collaborative. Many students expressed a desire to join the competition, inspired by the stories they heard and the possibilities that the NSAC presents. It was clear that the event left a lasting impression, igniting both excitement and confidence among participants.

Moving Forward with Purpose
Following the event, CIIT is taking active steps to support students who wish to participate in the NSAC. Faculty mentors are preparing consultation sessions and group workshops to help students refine their ideas and build their submissions. These initiatives reflect CIIT’s continued dedication to guiding young creators not just within the classroom but in the broader creative landscape as well.
A Space Where Creativity Thrives
The NSAC Roadshow was more than just a competition briefing—it was a celebration of art as a force for personal growth and societal impact. It reminded students that their voices matter and that national platforms like NSAC exist to amplify their stories. Events like this reinforce CIIT’s role as a creative and supportive space where young artists are empowered to redefine what’s possible through their craft.
