Are you ready to experience art with a unique, Filipino flavor? The CIIT Student Council, in cooperation with the school’s administration and instructors, is holding its first ever fashion show/art competition entitled “Lokal.” It will be a festive showcase of the students’ talents in various categories such as photography, T-shirt design, and character design. The following are the contests for the said event:
Galaw Lokal
This competition is open to all CIIT students. Contestants are to submit a still photo in JPG format of not less than 3000x4000px that depicts the theme “Galaw Lokal.” The deadline is on October 27, 2013. The CIIT SC, administration, and a judging panel will select the top 20 photos to be exhibited during the Lokal Event under the following criteria:
50% concept and interpretation of the theme
50% technical execution
100% Total
Prizes include P4000 cash and a sponsored product for first place; P2000 cash for second place; P1000 cash for third place; and P500 cash plus a sponsored product for the Audience Choice.
Disenyo Lokal (Shirt Design)
This competition is open to all CIIT students. Contestants are to submit a shirt design in JPG format of not less than 3000x4000px together with a layout of the design on a shirt template provided by the contest committee. The design must depict the theme “A Cultural Revolution in Contemporary Philippines” and must be submitted on or before October 27, 2013. The CIIT SC, administration, and a judging panel will select the top 20 designs for the runway show under the following criteria:
50% concept and interpretation of the theme
50% technical execution
100% Total
Prizes include P4000 cash and a sponsored product for first place; P2000 for second place; P1000 for third place; and P500 cash plus a sponsored product for Audience Choice.
Pantasya Lokal (Character Design)
This competition is open to all CIIT students. Contestants are to submit a concept board/design of a superhero/villain character on an A3-size JPG format. The character must be inspired from local Filipino culture and must be submitted on or before October 27, 2013. The CIIT SC, administration, and a pre-judging panel will select the top 20 entries for exhibition under the following criteria:
40% concept and cultural relevance
40% technical execution
20% overall impact
100% Total
Prizes include P4000 cash and a sponsored product for first place; P2000 cash for second place; P1000 cash for third place; and P500 cash plush a sponsored product for Audience Choice.
