GAMECON 2017 AT SM MEGAMALL
CIIT College of Arts and Technology was one of the exhibitors in this year’s Gamecon. The event was from July 7 to 9, 2017 at Megatrade Hall 2 of SM Megamall. To start things off, CIIT Founder and Chairman of the Board Niel Dagondon gave a talk game development. As the founder of Anino Games the country’s first game development studio, Mr. Dagondon is a pillar in the local gaming industry.
The second day had us bringing along our students Osias Bantug and Arwyn Silva in order for them to showcase their works! Our most played game made use of the now heckin famous doggos as they try to protect the cate(cat) from all sorts of animals. While simple in terms of gameplay, the game is fairly difficult. Visually, the game is very attractive due to its art style. Some of our employees also tried out the different booths such as learning Magic The Gathering! One of them even made it to the semi-finals of a Tekken 7 Tournament but had to drop out since we were already packing up for the day.
