CIITeens Take Pride in Filipino Culture through Feast and Clothing

At CIIT, we empower students to create masterpieces and innovative advancements that inspire pride in our fellow Filipinos. While fostering a culture of creativity and innovation, we remain deeply connected to our roots as a nation.

To celebrate the country’s diverse cultures, CIIT Senior High School threw a festivity themed “Angat-Lahing Kayumanggi” last September 18. CIITeens and faculty members gathered for the celebration to dress up and dine with a nod to our traditions.

Filipino Delights

The highlight of every Filipino party is the variety of delicious foods gracing the dinner table. During lunchtime, CIITeens came together to savor Pinoy dishes from various provinces.

But aside from relishing regional cuisines, the feast also served as a reminder of the Filipino neighborhood culture. The senior high students shared their favorite foods with each other while exchanging stories.

Bringing Filipino food for the celebration was delightful for CIITeens, especially for those who did not grow up in the Philippines. The feast made them reconnect to their roots through a taste of our culture.

Dressing in Culture

CIITeens also wore their best traditional garments, in time with the Linggo ng Kasuotang Pilipino. From Filipinianas, barongs, malongs, to other various native clothing, CIITeens made sure that the celebration of the Filipino culture was as vibrant as it could be.

CIIT values Filipino culture and its influence on creative expression. We always aim to cultivate this among our commune of artists and innovators. Experience CIIT’s diverse and supportive campus culture that broadens your creative horizons. Explore our programs and be part of our dynamic community.
