CIITeens’ campus journalism skills awarded at APSA QC 1st Young Writers Competition

At CIIT Senior High School, we aim to cultivate students’ creative talents while encouraging them to use their art to benefit the community. This goal was clearly demonstrated by CIITeens at the APSA QC’s (Association of Private Schools Administration Quezon City) 1st Young Writers Competition 2024, where our senior high students excelled in both illustration and written journalism. Competing against over 400 students from 20 schools, their outstanding works stood out during the event at the Holy Family School of Quezon City on October 18.

Besting other students in Pagguhit ng Larawang Tudling (Editorial Cartoon) was CIIT’s Graciella Astrid Cruz, who placed first in the category. Alyanna Makiramdam emerged at the 3rd spot for her talent in Pagsulat ng Balita (News Writing). Meanwhile, Glaiza Pasion secured the 9th place in Column Writing (English). Also among the recognized students in Pagguhit ng Larawang Tudling was Ryan Iman Felix in 9th place.

Such journalistic achievements proved CIITeens’ brilliance in harnessing visual and textual storytelling to speak the truth — a relevant skill to have and strengthen in today’s media landscape.

At CIIT, we develop a range of creative abilities among our students, such as the diverse visual arts plus writing. Learn more about our program offerings designed for you to prosper in the multimedia space!
