On January 17, 2025, CIIT Senior High CIITeens were treated to an exciting preview of their college journey during the highly anticipated G12 to College Open House entitled “Redefining Possibilities”. Organized by the Admissions Office, this event gave Grade 12 students a first look at the wide array of programs, state-of-the-art facilities, dynamic faculty, and the vibrant CIIT community they’ll soon be a part of. Hosted at the CIIT Interweave Building, the Open House was an engaging and hands-on experience, offering a perfect introduction to the transition from high school to college.
A Glimpse Into College Life
The event kicked off with brief introductions, setting the stage for an action-packed day ahead. Students explored a series of interactive booths representing various departments, including Arts, Tech, Entrepreneurship, Partnerships and Industry Relations Office (PIRO), and Student Affairs Office (SAO). Each booth provided a detailed look into the programs and activities students can expect at CIIT College. These immersive displays quickly became the center of attention, with students eagerly engaging with faculty, staff, and student organizations to learn more about their potential college life.
One of the most exciting parts of the event was the chance to explore CIIT’s Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). These groups, from academic societies to social clubs, gave students a taste of the extracurricular life they could look forward to. The booths and enthusiastic interactions sparked curiosity and excitement about the possibilities ahead.
Campus Tour and Fun Surprises
After immersing themselves in the booths, students were divided into small groups for a campus tour, offering a sneak peek of the facilities where they will soon be learning, collaborating, and growing. The tour provided students with a firsthand look at CIIT’s cutting-edge classrooms, labs, and collaborative workspaces, giving them a feel for the college environment they’ll soon call home.
The energy continued to build when students returned to the gym for a fun and unexpected surprise – an impromptu dance challenge led by the Student Council (SC). Students jumped right in, creating a lively and exciting atmosphere that further cemented the sense of camaraderie and school spirit.
The Glitch Reveal and Event Closure
The event culminated in the much-anticipated Glitch Reveal, sparking excitement about the cutting-edge experiences awaiting them in CIIT College. Along with this reveal, students had the chance to reserve spots for upcoming events, ensuring they wouldn’t miss out on any of the exciting opportunities ahead. To cap off the day, students enjoyed a delicious lunch, giving them a chance to unwind and reflect on the thrilling experience they had just shared.
A Day Filled With Anticipation
Although brief, the G12 to College Open House successfully captured the enthusiasm and excitement of the students, giving them a taste of what’s to come at CIIT. Many students left feeling even more eager to join the CIIT community, especially anticipating the Glitch experience. The opportunity to meet future professors and interact with their potential peers added to the excitement, setting the stage for a bright college journey ahead.
The overall vibe of the event was one of fun and anticipation, making it an unforgettable experience for the students. As they look ahead to becoming CIITzens, they now have a clearer understanding of the endless opportunities that await them at CIIT College.
