CIIT SHS Students won the Best Animation Awards

CIIT SHS Grade 12 Students Received “Best Animation” Award from Knowledge Channel

In a surprising turn of events, a selected team of CIIT SHS Grade 12 students won the “Best Animation” award during the Graduation Ceremony of the “Knowledge Channel Volunteer and Internship Program” last June 24 at the Dolphy Theater inside ABS-CBN. Without any knowledge prior to the ceremony, the “Langgang Group”, as they call themselves, received an award for their animated project entitled “The Happy Ant Hill”.

This much-coveted recognition is truly an amazing feat for our students since this is the first time we participated in this event. Our partnership with Knowledge Channel began in 2018. Its goal was to provide CIIT- SHS participants a remarkable internship experience. During the first year of the program, a total of sixty Grade 12 students joined.

Best Animation Award Goes to Langgang Group

The internship program required its participants to be divided into groups. Each team was provided with a fairytale for children that needed to be interpreted via animation. The winning group, Langggang, was assigned the “The Happy Ant Hill”, a folktale by Pat Nelson which was retold by Leah N. Bautista. All Fifteen of its members collaborated to form the animated version of the story which eventually turned out to be the top choice of the judges.

“I was shocked and overjoyed to learn that we won Best Animation. Even to this day I still can’t believe that we did,” says Claudette Lynn Osma, a member of the Langgang Group. The members of the team were all surprised to learn that their hard work paid off upon receiving the award. The team leader, Hans Heinrich Gromet, a student of the Animation track, said that he was surprised and thankful for the recognition. For Hans, the mere experience of watching their designs come to life was already pretty satisfying.

When asked about their Knowledge Channel Internship experience, Mark Laurence De Guzman said: “It was an interesting experience. It gave us an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the field, see what it is like, and experience to work with people we hardly knew. While creating something educational for the kids, we also learned new things along the way. Finally, seeing the production come to fruition is definitely something worth doing.”

The Langgang Team are composed of the following Grade 12 students: Apolos Adriano, Andrea Louise Jimenez, Anjelyn Balbero, Lenard Vince Gaffud, Hans Heinrich Gromet, Cristian Ochavez, Ira Francesca Fullon, Kathryn Grace Senga, Jocelle Putri Nahla Reyna, Risa Lumaad, Claudette Lynn Osma, Justin King Christian Paredes, Justin Del Villareal, Mark Lawrence De Guzman, Sarah Grace Sedico.

Kudos, Langgang Group! We are very proud of your achievement. We would also like to congratulate the rest of our CIIT-SHS interns for participating in this event. We are aware that this was no easy task for all of you. Your dedication and passion are not only inspiring but truly remarkable!.
