Last January 2023, the CIIT College of Arts and Technology embarked on a journey of learning and discovery at the Masungi Georeserve in Baras, Rizal. The objective of the trip was to witness the real environmental challenges brought by climate change.
The Masungi Georeserve is a hidden gem in the mountains of Rizal, Philippines, known for its unique rock formations, diverse wildlife, and breathtaking views. But beyond its beauty lies a story of conservation and preservation in the face of the ongoing environmental crisis. The field trip was designed to give the CIIT community a firsthand look at the effects of global warming and the efforts being made to combat it.
The participants were treated to breathtaking views of the lush forests and towering rock formations as they made their way through the trails. The ropes course was a thrilling challenge that provided both a physical and mental workout, and it surely made for an unforgettable experience! But, more importantly, the friendly Park Rangers gave the employes glimpse into the reality of climate change and the devastating impact it has on the environment.
The field trip was not just a learning experience, but also a meaningful journey into environmental awareness for us. The opportunity to disconnect from daily life and connect with nature was truly enriching. The bright and engaging atmosphere among faculty and staff during the trip was a testament to the dynamic and supportive community at CIIT.
The STS Masungi Georeserve field trip was a meaningful and eye-opening experience for everyone who participated. We did not just appreciate the beauty of nature, but we also understood the reality of climate change and the importance of preserving the environment. Join us on our next adventure at CIIT College of Arts and Technology!
