Music has been a powerful tool for bringing fun to the workplace. When in need of a boost or break from being busy with accomplishing our duties, we listen to our favorite playlists to liven up. But aside from uplifting our moods, music can also be turned to for enhancing our memory.

At CIIT College of Arts and Technology, we ensure that our continued efforts to improve employees’ skills are entertaining and engaging. Music was at the center stage for skills development during our staff’s monthly gathering last September 18, with a theme “Kantang GanTEAMpala”. CIIT employees enjoyed a sing-a-long that tested their mental agility while working harmoniously with their respective teams. 

Like those song lyric games we enjoy on the television, “Kantang GanTEAMpala” assembled our staff to play in groups and individually take turns to correctly voice out the missing lyrics of their chosen songs. While the gathering was fun and games, the challenge of lyric guessing under time pressure can also help sharpen our employees’ cognitive processing abilities.

Participants who performed best in singing the right lyrics won a pouch filled with Katinko products, including oil, ointment, and alcohol.

After the thrill of the music game, the team got more energized and delighted with the pizza treat from HR.

As music (and food) brought our people together, we hoped its magic worked in making them feel good through minus stress and better performance.
