Digital Painting and Sculpture

Introduction

Digital Painting and Sculpture aim to hone the students’ creative and technical knowledge in both arts in order for them to express emotions, ideas, or inner visions by the application of paints or creating three-dimensional works using different sculpting media like clay, plaster, wood, etc. The basic techniques and applications of painting & sculpting are applied to other different forms of multimedia arts like 3D animation and image manipulation.

Careers

  • Exhibiting Artist - create artwork for display in museums, zoos, or similar establishments. They design and layout exhibit settings and discuss with museum personnel on the type of artworks needed.
  • Art Historian - Also known as art conservators, evaluate, restore, and preserve a wide variety of artifacts. They work at art galleries, historical societies, non-profit organizations, and museums.
  • Art Dealer - display and sell pieces of visual art. Art galleries hire art dealers to bring in various types of pieces (paintings and sculptures from many artists). They must anticipate current trends and swings in the market, as well as identify and critic art value.
  • Production Designer (Theater) - Production designers work in the entertainment industry and use their creative flair to make film, television, and theater productions look the way they do. They develop a complete visual framework for the production they’re working on and make sure the visual texture of the production matches their creative vision. They also create thematic designs for sets, props, camera and lighting angles, costumes, locations, special effects, graphics, and other technical requirements.
